We took a hike Sunday up the mountain on the east side of the holler.
This is a view of Rich Mountain, Townsend is just right of center.

Winterberry is a member of the Holly family, it's also called Possum Haw.
Once we climbed past the Laurel thicket, the mountain was covered with them.
