Do you like to search for salamanders or catch butterflies? Does identifying insects or banding birds sound like fun?
The Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont operates a volunteer program called Citizen Science. This program offers adults and students opportunities to aide in research projects collecting data for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
This Saturday and Sunday, October 4th and 5th, are monarch tagging days in Cades Cove and Monday, October 13th, you can assist with salamander monitoring.
For more information, or to sign up, please call Josh Davis at 865-448-6709.
Space is limited.
Note: This will be the last monarch tagging this year. The salamander monitoring takes place on the 2nd Monday of each month.
